Youth180 Statement of Solidarity: Black Lives Matter.
Youth180 acknowledges the trauma and pain experienced by Black individuals over the past weeks and throughout our history. Youth180 stands in solidarity with those who are utilizing their voices for peaceful protest and change. We all must make time to reflect on the senseless murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many others. We acknowledge how current systems oppress and devalue Black lives across the world, especially in the United States. Together, we must see what is happening in the world and, with our mission in mind, commit ourselves to action.
Youth180 serves people of all race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Our agency is a safe space for everyone to feel seen, welcome and heard. As a trauma-responsive organization, we know that acts of racism not only inflict physical damage but can also deeply impact the mental health of individuals as well as generations. We remain committed to addressing the trauma in our communities and actively working alongside our staff, donors, and agency partners to build a more equitable world for everyone.
